Description
The Ronin Eclipse Sword is a long, agile blade designed for reach and speed. With its 91 cm overall length, its slim 3.6 cm blade and its balanced weight of 1.6 kg, it cuts quickly and follows every movement cleanly.
Forged in 60Si2Mn spring steel, the blade is made to withstand shocks — a shock-resistant alloy that flexes and returns to shape rather than chipping or breaking on impact. A titanium-coated finish protects it from corrosion and gives the Ronin its dark, low-reflectivity profile.
The handle is G10 composite, a high-pressure fibreglass laminate known for its strength, durability and resistance to moisture and wear. Its textured surface gives a secure grip in any condition, while the matching G10 fittings keep the sword light, balanced and robust.
The sword comes with a Kydex 2.0 scabbard — a robust, precision-moulded sheath designed for secure retention and practical carrying, with multiple attachment eyelets for carrying or display.
Produced in a limited quantity of 80 pieces, the Ronin Eclipse Sword is a distinctive long-reach piece, combining modern materials, resilient construction and a clean all-black design.
Buying a sword in the UK
Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.
Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.
Care
- Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
- Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
- Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
- Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.
