This exceptional katana, with its 1060 carbon steel blade, is a centrepiece of elegance and power. True to the essence of traditional Japanese swords, it offers a harmonious blend of function and sophisticated aesthetics.
Blade: The 72 cm (28.3 in) blade, made in 1060 carbon steel, is known for its resilience and toughness. It has a meticulous polish that brings out the subtle nuances of the steel.
Tsuba: The guard is sculpted iron, bearing detailed motifs that illustrate the craftsmanship. It does more than protect the hand: it adds a touch of historical grace.
Saya: The immaculate white lacquered scabbard contrasts beautifully with the blade. It is lightweight, allowing easy handling and a flawless presentation.
Tsuka: The handle, covered in synthetic rayskin leather, gives a secure, pleasant grip. The sculpted iron menuki and the bamboo mekugi make the handle both attractive and practical.
With a total length of 103 cm (40.6 in) and a weight of 1.4 kg with the saya, this katana is well balanced for martial arts practice or to serve as a distinguished display piece.
Buying a sword in the UK
Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.
Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.
Care
- Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
- Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
- Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
- Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.

A quality blade, the details are incredible, except that you will notice I changed the sageo for a colour more faithful to the one in the original work. But everything is perfect apart from that detail. If some doubt the quality, have no fear, the only scary thing is the delay between order and delivery. But I fully understand the wait given the quality, and I had no customs fees, unlike other reviews.

Perfect and magnificent katana, but what a surprise when I unwrapped it... the scabbard was broken... I've been waiting for news since!
