Description
The Onyx Dart Sword is a short, compact blade with a robust, purposeful profile. With an overall length of only 56 cm, a broad 4.6 cm blade and a solid weight of 1.5 kg, it concentrates the bite of a full-size sword into a compact, lively format.
Forged in DC53 tool steel, the blade is exceptionally hard and wear-resistant. A black titanium finish protects it from corrosion and gives the Dart its understated all-black presence.
The handle is G10 composite, a high-pressure fibreglass laminate known for its strength, durability and resistance to moisture and wear. Its deeply textured surface locks into the hand even in damp conditions, while the matching G10 fittings keep the whole light and robust.
The sword comes with a Kydex 2.0 scabbard — a tough, precision-moulded sheath designed for secure retention and practical carrying, with multiple attachment eyelets for flexible set-ups.
Produced in a limited quantity of 80 pieces, the Onyx Dart Sword is a distinctive short-blade piece, combining hard tool steel, modern materials and a bold all-black design.
Buying a sword in the UK
Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.
Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.
Care
- Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
- Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
- Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
- Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.
