Description
The Black Leviathan Sword is a massive blade with a bold, imposing silhouette. With its 99 cm overall length, its huge 6 cm-wide blade and its imposing weight of 2.0 kg, it has a physical presence few other swords can match.
Forged in 80CrV2 high-carbon steel, the blade is tempered for rugged toughness — an alloy proven in heavy-duty knives, here scaled up to a sword, keeping a hard edge while withstanding heavy impacts. Its all-black finish resists corrosion and gives the Leviathan a look as imposing as its cut.
The handle is G10 composite, a high-pressure fibreglass laminate known for its strength, durability and resistance to moisture and wear. Its textured surface anchors the grip against the heavy momentum of the blade, while the stainless steel fittings reinforce the structure for intensive, repeated use.
The sword comes with a Kydex 2.0 scabbard — a robust, precision-moulded sheath designed for secure retention and practical carrying, with multiple attachment eyelets for flexible set-ups.
Produced in a limited quantity of 80 pieces, the Black Leviathan Sword is a distinctive heavyweight display piece, combining resilient high-carbon steel, modern materials and a bold all-black design.
Buying a sword in the UK
Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.
Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.
Care
- Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
- Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
- Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
- Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.
