The Iron Crown Longsword is the archetype of the medieval knight's arming sword: clean, balanced and timeless. With its tapered blade, curved quillons and classic wheel pommel, it captures the silhouette that every collector pictures when thinking of a knightly blade.
Blade: Forged in 60Si2CrA spring steel, the 78 cm (30.7 in) blade tapers to a precise point and runs a central fuller for a light, lively feel in the hand.
Guard: Cruciform quillons in 304 stainless steel, slightly curved towards the blade, provide solid protection while preserving the clean lines of the classic form.
Scabbard: Made of wood and genuine leather in a warm brown finish with a polished steel chape and matching hanger, it keeps the blade secure.
Handle: The 19 cm (7.5 in) handle is mounted on a solid wood core, hand-braided with brown cord and topped with a steel wheel pommel, the signature of the medieval arming sword, for impeccable one-handed balance.
Dimensions: At 102 cm (40.2 in) overall and only 1.5 kg (3.3 lb), the Iron Crown is agile and easy to handle, ideal for display or controlled practice.
A perfect entry into the knightly tradition, the Iron Crown Longsword brings authentic medieval character to any collection.
Buying a sword in the UK
Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.
Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.
Care
- Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
- Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
- Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
- Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.
