The Oni 鬼 Katana is a majestic piece, imbued with the strength and tenacity of the samurai spirit.

Blade (刀身): The blade is shaped from Damascus steel, recognised for its unique swirling patterns, recalling the ripples of calm water. The subtlety of its grey tones and the reflections it casts evoke inner strength and determination.

Guard (Tsuba 鍔): The zinc alloy tsuba is decorated with motifs that seem to tell the epics of the ancient samurai. Its design is both a tribute to the protective role of the guard and a work of art in its own right.

Scabbard (Saya 鞘): The lightweight lacquered wood saya offers elegant protection to the blade, with a careful finish that completes the whole. Its smooth, glossy surface is a worthy case for the blade it holds.

Handle (Tsuka 柄): The handle is covered in synthetic ray-skin leather, offering a firm grip and a refined look. The braided pattern is pleasant to the touch as well as attractive to the eye.

Zinc alloy menuki set: The menuki ornaments add a personal touch to the katana, while the two bamboo mekugi keep the assembly solid.

The Oni Katana is more than a collector's item. It is an extension of its owner's spirit, a representation of inner strength and commitment to ancient traditions.

Buying a sword in the UK

Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.

Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.

Care

Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.

Superb katana that has found its place naturally in my office 🤩 I haven't tried the razor-sharp edge yet but it won't be long! Thanks again 🙏🏼👌

I loved the work and the Damascus steel, but what I regret is the blade edge, which is not well sharpened. I had to sharpen it myself and buy a blade machine to sharpen it.

The blade has too soft a core, too flexible, it bends easily, but the Damascus is good for the price

As a practitioner of the Japanese sword, I fully recommend buying this katana. It is easy to handle for its weight. The work done on the blade fully respects the traditional art of Japanese forging. The quality and the materials used bear further witness to this. Moreover, all the criteria and the various details of my order were respected with immense professionalism and great meticulousness. Thanks again for this exceptional work r...
