Description and specifications
Kokuhōtō (黒凰刀), or "Black Phoenix Blade", represents the eternal cycle of fall and rebirth. Inspired by the celestial phoenix, the design of this katana combines elegance and intensity: a mirror-polished black saya adorned with gilded phoenix engravings, and a blade forged to perfection in T10 steel with a natural hamon line. Its presence gives off a silent authority — a blade for those who rise stronger after every fall.

DESCRIPTION
The Kokuhōtō 黒凰刀 is a symbol of refined power and rebirth. Its clay-tempered T10 steel blade shines with a genuine hamon — a testament to traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The contrast between the black silk tsuka and the black saya adorned with golden phoenixes evokes the eternal dance between shadow and light.
This katana is not only a work of aesthetics but a creation of harmony and endurance. The Black Phoenix Blade pays tribute to the spirit that never yields, reborn from the ashes stronger than before.
Buying a sword in the UK
Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.
Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.
Care
- Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
- Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
- Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
- Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.
