This katana stands out for its elegance and finesse, made for enthusiasts of Japanese culture and collectors. It is the result of meticulous work that combines centuries-old tradition with a contemporary aesthetic.
Blade: At 72 cm (28.3 in), it is made of T10 steel, known for its robustness, with a distinctive claw-pattern hamon, a symbol of strength and nobility.
Tsuba: The guard is a delicate piece of carved copper, where every detail is worked with care to show off its complex, elaborate design.
Saya: The carefully varnished scabbard, with a cotton sageo, offers refined protection for the blade and completes its sophisticated look.
Tsuka: The handle, covered in genuine white shagreen, offers a comfortable and attractive grip, with copper menuki that enrich its appearance with finesse.
Complete dimensions: With a total length of 103 cm (40.6 in) including the scabbard, this katana has a remarkable presence and a balance suited to display or careful handling.
Buying a sword in the UK
Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.
Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.
Care
- Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
- Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
- Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
- Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.
