Buying a sword in the UK

Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.

Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.

Care

Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.

Read our full care guide.

Delivery, returns and age check

Free UK delivery, duties and import VAT included: nothing to pay on delivery. 1–3 working days to prepare, then 5–15 working days delivery.

18+, signed for: the carrier checks the buyer’s photo ID (passport or UK driving licence) and takes a signature. Parcels cannot be left with a neighbour or in a safe place.

30-day returns on unused swords in their original packaging. Engraved swords cannot be returned for a change of mind but are fully covered if faulty. Delivery · Returns · Terms of sale
