Description and specifications
The Guren 紅蓮 katana is one of the most striking blades in our collection. Its name, which means "crimson lotus", the colour the old smiths gave to a blazing flame, is read in every detail: a San-Mai "Red Roast" blade in warm coppery tones, copper fittings engraved with dragons, and a saya finished in a deep marbled lacquer of red, gold and ember black. This is a sword designed to look like fire frozen in steel.

DESCRIPTION
The 紅蓮 – Guren katana takes its name from the crimson lotus, a flower the ancient poets used to describe the heart of a blaze. One look at the blade is enough to understand the choice. Forged in San-Mai lamination and given a "Red Roast" finish, the steel glows with deep coppery and amber tones, while the rippling hada runs down the blade like embers moving beneath ash.
San-Mai construction places a hard, high-carbon core between two softer outer layers. The result brings together the best of both worlds: an edge that keeps its bite and sides that absorb shock and resist breakage. It is the same logic master smiths have used for centuries, here wrapped in a finish you simply do not see on an ordinary katana.
The koshirae carries the fire theme from end to end. The saya is hand-finished in a marbled lacquer of crimson, gold and black that shifts with the light: no two scabbards are alike. An openwork iron tsuba with gilded dragons, framed by a silver rim engraved with clouds, protects the blade, paired with a copper habaki engraved with dragons. The tsuka is wrapped in black ito over genuine white rayskin (samegawa), completing the sword with a clean, classic grip.
Full-tang and made to the same demanding standards as every blade in this range, the 紅蓮 – Guren katana is above all a collector's piece, supplied unsharpened for display. Supplied unsharpened for display, with optional hand engraving. The Crimson Flame Blade.
