Discover the Giyu Tomioka Katana, a replica inspired by the katana carried by the character of the same name in the anime “Demon Slayer”. This sword embodies the care of traditional Japanese craftsmanship and is designed especially for fans of the “Demon Slayer” universe.
Blade: Hand-forged in high-quality 1060 carbon steel, the 72 cm blade is a genuine piece of art, supplied unsharpened for display. It is ready for display in a collection.
Guard (Tsuba): The tsuba is meticulously carved in iron, with intricate detail and an aesthetic that evokes the strength and grace of the katana carried by Giyu Tomioka.
Scabbard (Saya): Made of lightweight lacquered wood, the saya protects the blade elegantly while adding an authentic visual touch to this katana.
Handle (Tsuka): Wrapped in synthetic ray-skin leather, the handle offers a comfortable and secure grip, allowing precise control of the blade.
Menuki set: The carved iron ornaments add an extra artistic dimension to the katana, recalling elements of the anime.
Mekugi: Two bamboo mekugi reinforce the structure of the katana, keeping the blade firmly secured to the handle.
With an overall length of 103 cm (40.6 in) including the scabbard, the katana is well proportioned. The blade is 3.2 cm (1.3 in) wide and 0.7 cm (0.3 in) thick, giving a good balance between weight and handling, with a total weight of 1.4 kg with the scabbard.
The Giyu Tomioka Katana is much more than a simple replica. It will delight fans of “Demon Slayer” and collectors of traditional Japanese swords. Add this piece to your collection or display it to recall the series.
Buying a sword in the UK
Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.
Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.
Care
- Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
- Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
- Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
- Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.
