The Katana Shizen 自然 is a perfect embodiment of the power of nature combined with the mastery of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.

Blade (刀身): The golden Damascus steel blade is a work of art, its finish evoking the flash of lightning across a stormy sky. Damascus steel is famous for its unique patterns and resilience, offering a combination of flexibility and strength for added longevity.

Guard (Tsuba 鍔): The finely carved iron Tsuba is robust and durable, with an attention to detail that reflects the storms that inspired this Katana. Iron, besides its strength, allows detailed engraving, making each guard unique like the imprints left by nature.

Scabbard (Saya 鞘): The solid wood Saya brings a balance and visual harmony reminiscent of the calm of green plains. The solid wood provides robust protection for the blade, while its weight contributes to the overall balance of the sword.

Handle (Tsuka 柄): The lacquered magnolia wood handle, enhanced by galuchat leather, offers not only a natural look but also a comfortable and secure grip. Galuchat, with its particular texture, ensures an optimal grip and a refined feel in the hand.

The Katana Shizen 自然 is therefore more than a simple sword; it reflects a spirited character and a deep love of the natural elements, ideal for those seeking an exceptional piece that matches their own personality.

Buying a sword in the UK

Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.

Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.

Care

Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.
