The "Kogane Ryu 黄金龍" katana stands out for its T10 steel blade with hamon, forged to combine finesse and robustness. Every component is selected for its quality and authenticity, creating a sword of remarkable beauty and function.
Blade: The 71 cm blade, in T10 steel with hamon, is finished with care, reflecting the expertise of a master smith. T10 steel is recognised for its durability and its ability to hold an exceptional edge.
Tsuba: The guard, in high-quality copper, is finely carved, showing goldsmith-level work that echoes the ancestral traditions of Japan.
Saya: The lacquered wood scabbard is decorated with golden dragon motifs and elegant finishes, giving a refined look that complements this katana perfectly.
Tsuka: The 27 cm handle is covered in genuine leather with a traditional wrap, giving a comfortable and durable grip. The alloy menuki matching the tsuba and the bamboo mekugi keep the assembly solid.
With an overall length of 103 cm and a weight of 1.4 kg with the saya, the "Kogane Ryu 黄金龍" katana is an ideal choice for martial arts enthusiasts and collectors, harmoniously combining aesthetics and function.
Buying a sword in the UK
Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.
Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.
Care
- Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
- Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
- Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
- Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.
