DESCRIPTION
The 絵巻刀 — Katana Emaki draws its identity from the emakimono, the legendary illustrated scrolls of Heian-period Japan. The saya (scabbard) is lacquered in deep glossy black and decorated along its full length with a hand-painted scene of legendary samurai and mythological figures in vivid oranges, crimson reds and ivory whites, evoking the storytelling tradition of ancient Japanese narrative art.
The tsuka (handle) is wrapped in rich crimson ito over black samegawa, with gilded menuki accents that catch the light with every grip. A navy blue sageo cord completes the look with traditional elegance. The blade is forged in premium T10 steel with an authentic hamon line, offering both robustness and visual authenticity.
Every element of this katana, the scabbard painted with stories, the crimson handle, the polished T10 blade, makes it one of the most visually distinctive pieces in any collection. 絵巻刀 — the Blade of the Painted Scroll.
