The Yūkan'na 勇敢な Katana is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, made for those who appreciate the finesse of a true Japanese master's sword.

Blade (刀身): The Kobuse forging technique pairs T10 steel with a clay-tempered Damascus hamon, giving a blade of exceptional resilience and striking visual beauty. T10 is known for its balance of hardness and flexibility, while the Damascus patterns create a distinctive hamon, the sign of selective hardening along the edge.

Guard (Tsuba 鍔): The pure copper guard enhanced with gilded silver is not only a symbol of nobility but also a mark of quality. Copper provides durability and silver adds value, each contributing to reliable protection of the hand.

Scabbard (Saya 鞘): The solid wood of the scabbard is covered in green ray skin, a material prized for its sturdiness and unique grain. The ray skin protects the blade well while offering a remarkable look, recalling the depths of ancient forests.

Handle (Tsuka 柄): Wrapped in genuine ray-skin leather, the handle guarantees a solid, ergonomic grip. Ray skin, with its granular texture, is known for a secure hold, even in intensive practice.

The Yūkan'na 勇敢な Katana is a tribute to bravery and skill, a sword worthy of the most heroic samurai and of discerning collectors, embodying the spirit of Bushido in every detail.

Buying a sword in the UK

Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.

Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.

Care

Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.

After looking at several katana sites, I ordered a Yūkan'na katana from katana-japonais.com. It is magnificent and I don't regret my purchase. It's good value for money! Answers to my questions were not long in coming. I recommend.
