It's an elegant sword, beautifully shaped, I like the red and black colours of the tsuka, the saya has a vivid and relaxing colour. Having a bo-hi, it sounds beautiful when you cut. Having a dragon as tsuba, that's strong.

Blade (刀身): The Damascus steel of the blade is a prestigious choice for its beauty and durability. Several steels forged together create distinctive wave-like patterns, each blade being different. Damascus steel is known for its resistance to bending and its lasting edge, making it a material of choice for a katana blade.
Guard (Tsuba 鍔): The carved solid brass guard is not only protective, it is also a work of art. Brass is valued for its corrosion resistance and its golden shine, which elegantly complements the patterns of the Damascus blade.
Scabbard (Saya 鞘): The lacquered solid wood scabbard protects the blade with elegance. The lacquer, besides adding an attractive glossy finish, acts as a protective barrier against the elements, keeping the blade in perfect condition.
Handle (Tsuka 柄): Ray skin leather, known for its durability and distinctive texture, covers the solid wood handle. This leather, prized for its comfortable grip and resistance to moisture, adds a touch of luxury to the handle while ensuring good adhesion.
In short, this katana is an exceptional piece for training and collecting, offering a perfect combination of function, beauty and tradition.
Buying a sword in the UK
Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.
Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.
Care
- Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
- Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
- Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
- Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.

This katana is exactly what I expected. I am not an expert at all but it seems to me to have been made with great care and it is undeniably a very beautiful object. Special mention for the perfect packaging and fast delivery. Thank you, MTordjman
