Description
The Grey Talon Short Sword is a compact blade with a curved profile. At just 62 cm overall and 1.0 kg, it is compact and easy to display where a full-length sword would take up too much space, while its 45 cm curved blade keeps a true sword silhouette.
The blade is forged in 60Si2Mn spring steel, a silicon-manganese alloy chosen for its ability to flex under impact and return perfectly straight. Its titanium plating resists corrosion and wear while giving the Talon its pale grey sheen.
The handle is made of G10 composite, a high-pressure fibreglass laminate recognised for its strength, durability and resistance to moisture and wear. Its undulating shape locates the hand instantly, and the 7075 aluminium and copper fittings, with an openwork cross guard, keep the whole rigid and light.
The sword comes with a Kydex 2.0 scabbard, a sturdy, precision-moulded sheath designed for secure retention and practical carry, with multiple attachment eyelets for flexible configurations.
Produced in a limited edition of 100 pieces, the Grey Talon Short Sword is the ideal choice for anyone who wants the substance of a sword in a format that is carried like a large knife.
Buying a sword in the UK
Sold only to adults aged 18 and over. Curved swords with a blade of 50 cm or more are hand-forged using traditional methods, as required by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order as amended in 2008.
Carrying a bladed article in a public place without good reason is an offence. Transport your sword wrapped, and only for a legitimate purpose (dojo, re-enactment, collection). Rules may differ in Scotland.
Care
- Wipe the blade after every handling with a soft cloth; never touch it with bare fingers.
- Apply a thin film of oil every few weeks to prevent rust.
- Store it horizontally in its saya, edge up, away from damp.
- Use only on suitable practice targets (rolled tatami mats, bamboo); never strike hard objects.
