The clan is regarded as one of the most famous and powerful of feudal Japan. Ruling the province of Kai for 400 years, from the 12th to the 16th century, the Takeda were one of the most powerful families in Japanese feudal history. Their motto was \"Loyalty and brotherhood\" and their clan banner bore the words \"fu rin ka zan\" (wind, forest, fire, mountain), meaning \"Swift as the wind, silent as the forest, fierce as fire and immovable as a mountain\".\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis samurai armour is handmade by master craftsmen.
